DESIGN MUST MAKE US DREAM

My modest vision on design is that beyond the functional, practical, ergonomic and ecological solution, the design must captivate by its humour, it must whisper “l’aire du temps,” tell the story of our era, of every day living, that is to say at a sociological, scientific or political level. It dictates the way we nourish and dress ourselves, to present ourselves, and to feel good about ourselves. It must create “pieces of happiness,” serve and facilitate all the gestures of our daily interactions.

Design must emanate a strong positive energy within the space, with the goal to making people feel “happier,” and optimistic, more beautiful… and if possible better. I believe in the “zero impact” on nature, it must be an engine of progress. Humanity is important, and “well-being” is of primary importance.

Consequently, we need to have a comfortable environment for the people’s “well being”. For example; to touch, to listen to, the temperature similar to the one from our body. All these sensory elements are important. In an object, the welding, painting, chemistry of materials, the varnishes must in spite of their appearances be composed of nontoxic substances, moving towards an organic and ecological product. In conclusion, it is to believe that the design of tomorrow will promote hope and produce optimism.
